Tigereye gets its name from its resemblance to the eye of a tiger. This is due to its strong chatoyance. It is also been called Griqulandite, named from where the best examples were found - Griquland, South Africa. It is a quartz with rich shades of honey, yellow and brown with a silky luster with fibrous inclusions of crocidolite. These Tigereye Beads are typical shades with a good polish. Sold as temporary strung 37cm (approx) strands.
